Dnipropolymermash Plant has fulfilled a large order for Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant. The Dnipro plant has manufactured a casing for the RPZ-48 ferroalloy furnace. The furnace capacity reaches 63 MVA, which makes the furnace one of the most powerful in the world.
The height of the furnace reaches 50 meters, so the manufactured casing consists of 22 walls to be assembled. The product weighs 250 tons.
The casing forms a furnace bath. It shall be strong enough to withstand the mass of processed materials, alloy, as well as the mass and pressure of the furnace lining, i.e. its internal refractory clothing. Therefore, the furnace casing has been made of steel sheets 25 mm thick.
The large-scale order has been executed by Dnipropolymermash due to modernized production as a result of investment by plant’s shareholder Vadim Ermolaev. In particular, the order was carried out on the modernized milling machine by the German company of Waldrich Coburg. The machine table length reaches 12 meters. Such equipment allows processing parts weighing up to 30 tons.
New welding equipment has been also used at the plant to fulfil the order.
Previously, Dnipropolymermash has already taken part in the global modernization of equipment at the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant. In 2018, the Dnipro plant manufactured an electrode sleeve for the RKG-75 furnace (Japan). Fulfilment of the order helped restarting the oven, which was previously in reserve. This order was carried out on a boring-and-turning mill with a diameter of 5 meters.
“Every year, the list of products developed by Dnipropolymermash is growing rapidly. The reason for this is commissioning of new equipment produced by companies such as Doosan, Waldrich Coburg, AMADA, Takisawa. New capabilities allow fulfilment of complex individual orders for large enterprises. Dnipropolymermash has established itself as plant specializing in non-standard tasks. As a result, the enterprise managed to increase its output by 40% at the end of 2018,” Igor Tsyrkin said, the partner and the CEO of the plant.
Background Information: Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant is the largest ferroalloy enterprise in Europe (more than 11% of the global production of ferroalloys). 75% of the plant’s products are exported. Consumers of products are metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine, the CIS countries, the EU, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Japan, the USA, Canada and other countries.
PJSC Dnepropolymermash is a machine-building plant manufacturing equipment for the metallurgical, mining and processing industries. It set up the production and release of spare parts, assemblies and units for the oil and gas, mining, ore-dressing, metallurgical and other industries, as well as for the power industry and agriculture; frame moulded pieces up to 50 tons are processed. It is one of the largest manufacturers of moulds for vulcanization of pneumatic and solid tires, tubes, rim tapes and diaphragms in Ukraine and the CIS.
