How Artificial Intelligence Will Impact the Global Economy: Opinion of Businessman Vadym Iermolaiev

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a topic for scientific conferences — it has become a key driver of change in the global economy.

Businessman and investor Vadym Iermolaiev is convinced: AI will become one of the most influential technologies of the 21st century, transforming not only individual industries but also the very logic of the global market.

In his view, we are entering a phase where the economy does not merely adapt to technology — it fully depends on it. AI already enables companies to reduce costs, automate processes, create new products, and enter untapped markets. At the same time, however, it poses challenges — for the labor market, education systems, and government regulation.

“Artificial intelligence is not just a tool. It is a new reality. Those who do not accept it will be left out of the game,” Iermolaiev stresses.

He points to how rapidly human roles in production, management, and services are changing. Programs are already replacing analysts, designers, consultants — and this is only the beginning.

Iermolaiev also speaks of the enormous potential for countries that can become centers of AI development or adaptation.

“Ukraine has all the prerequisites for this: talented IT specialists, a flexible market, the ability to adapt quickly. But that is not enough. We need political will, investment in education and science, and clear rules for the technology business,” he adds.

And, of course, new ethical standards are indispensable. The businessman is convinced that no matter how much the world changes, the human dimension must remain central.

“Even the smartest system cannot replace responsibility, compassion, and moral choice.”

“AI will not take away our jobs — it will take away routine. And that is a good thing. But we must prepare for the fact that the new economy will require new people. With new knowledge, values, and awareness,” concludes Vadym Iermolaiev.
