Katerynoslavskyi boulevard, the architectural landmark of Dnipro city, will get the logical extension. The pedestrian street will be extended considerably and the fundamental changes into design will be introduced.

According to architects, the restored Boulevard and project deliverable will be more than successful; it will exceed the most ambitious expectations. Vadym Iermolaiev, investor of the project “Katerynoslavskyi boulevard – 2” told about it on his Facebook page.

One of the most popular recreation ares of city people, Katerynoslavskyi Boulevard, located in the heart of Dnipro city, will get the logical extension. Closed to motor traffic, the unique pedestrian area will change beyond all recognition. The new pedestrian boulevard, the extension of Katerynoslavskyi boulevard, will be constructed on the neighbouring Pivdenna Street.

The author of the project for the future boulevard was the architectural bureau Filimonov & Kashirina architects – a creative tandem with nearly 10 years of experience working together, and the investor of the unique project is the Dnipro entrepreneur Vadym Iermolaiev.

As planned by the architects, the street will be divided into three longitudinal arts. Zones closer to homes are designed for the convenience of pedestrians, and the spacious and creatively decorated central part can be used for various outdoor activities – for example, small street concerts and performances.

The highlight of new boulevard should be an artificial stream, the length of which will be about 200 meters. The architects plan to decorate the triangular peak of the stream with small fountains, and in the evening the water flow will be highlighted in a special way with the use of bright illuminations. In addition, special street lights will create a realistic effect of water glare on the surrounding buildings. This spectacle promises to be not just beautiful, but fascinating, because the water element is known for its calming effect and ability to harmonize space.

According to Vadym Iermolaiev, the project investor, it is planned to start the
construction work as early as this year.

@There is one interesting proverb: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next good time is today”.

I am glad to think now that nevertheless we were able to “plant a tree” 20 years ago (and to be exact, 15 years ago). It was the time when Dnipro got Katerynoslavskyi boulevard.

Moreover, we won`t waste the next “good time”. We commence the works on
creation of Katerynoslavskyi boulevard II on Pivdenna street as early as this year”.

They provide the safe children’s playground right in the heart of the boulevard at the disposal of the youngest Dnipro residents. It will have a soft rubber coating and safe reliefs.

The pavement of the new boulevard and the decorative fixtures like stone benches and balls will be repeated along the lines of the neighbouring Katerynoslavsky Boulevard, so that they look a single structure visually.

“We worked on this project with inspiration and painstakingly, con anima,” says architect Serhii Filimonov, “And we hope that the new pedestrian street will become an equally popular place for walking, business and romantic meetings, cultural leisure of residents and guests of the Dnipro as the famous Katerynoslavsky Boulevard. Such pedestrian spaces are a modern European trend that Ukrainian cities are just beginning to take note of. The success of the project is guaranteed by the participation of a trusted investor, Vadym Iermolaiev, a native and patriot of Dnipro. Our architectural bureau cooperates with him not for the first time, so we believe that the project deliverable will be more than successful; it will even exceed expectations”.
