The biofuel power plant “Ajax” was launched in Dnipro city at the premises of the Oil Extraction Plant “Potoky” which is one of the members of “Alef” corporation.
The power plant operates on biomass – pellets from sunflower husks. Moreover, it is possible to use wood chips and waste products from sunflower growing, transportation and processing at the boiler houses of the power plant.
The thermal power plants may turn 320-350 tons of husks into the electrical energy. The thermal power plant operating on biofuel of such capacity is exclusive in Ukraine yet. It is able not only to provide the production site with the electrical energy but also to supply it to the integrated electricity grid.
Construction of similar thermal power plants facilitates the solution of at once several problems: it reduces consumption of non-renewable natural resources; it develops the country’s energy self-sufficiency, and reduces the number of the environmentally destructive emissions.
The efficiency factor of the boilers is equal to 90%, and the range of load control is equal to 30-110%. The electricity generated on the thermal power plant will be sold to the unified energy system according to “green” tariff.
New electrical power plant operating on biofuel is environmentally friendly due to the fact that combustion gases pass through the multilevel electrofiltration cleaning system. The ash obtained after raw materials combustion may be used as the environmentally clean fertilizer.
The project was implemented in the space of two years.
Reference: The Oil Extraction Plant “Potoky” was established in Dnipro city in 2018. In addition to sunflower oil, the plant produces the high-protein concentrate “Proglot” (“Eat like”) which is used for feed stuff production. The enterprise performance is equal to 1400 tons of sunflower seeds per day.
“Alef” corporation incorporates cross-sectional businesses operating in the sector of development, manufacturing of construction materials and the agrarian field. Vadym Iermolaiev is a chairman of “Alef” corporation council. Stanislav Vilenskyi is a deputy chairman of the corporation council.
